I’m already receiving another type of therapy, should I combine them?

The ideal scenario is to try each type of therapy as a stand-alone. Combining treatment types may confuse the body. It’s helpful to know which treatment is giving desired results.

How long is a session?

Each treatment is outcome based, so the length of time depends on the body’s response. Some appointments may be shorter or longer depending on the need. You can generally plan for anywhere from 20-30+ minutes of treatment. Initial assessments tend to run 30-40 minutes, though each session will be different.

How many sessions does it take?

The general rule of thumb is simple - everyone is different. We like to begin the treatment series with a 3-session kick-start, ideally about a week apart. After the 3rd session, the therapist may recommend a continuation of weekly treatments or may indicate that subsequent treatments are only as needed. Some patients have relief in as little as 1 session, while other more complicated cases will take more time to unfold.

What do I wear?

Comfortable clothing is best for the therapists to work through and allow movement. All clothing will remain intact. Please try to avoid wearing hard pants/denim to your appointment, as this may hinder the ability to work the tissue effectively or limit your movement. A RAPID therapist prefers to work through the clothing as opposed to directly on the skin to avoid sliding. Your legs may also move into open positions, please no skirts or dresses.

Can I take pain medication?

While we cannot advise on prescription or over the counter pain medication, what we can provide you with is information to understand the healing phases of a RAPID treatment. Inflammation created during the treatment is part of the healing process; therefore, removing inflammation will reduce the outcome. It is important for your body to be fully aware of the neurological input (feeling) from the treatment, and be able to respond in a natural state. Ultimately, you make the decision about what your body needs.
